06/04/2025 Success at SSKA Tournament
Today Jinsei Dojo absolutely SMASHED it at the SSKA Nationals
To take a group of 10 athletes and for every single one to come away with a medal is spectacular!

Huge thanks to Martin who was our referee today, Thomas who did a brilliant job on his first outing as a coach, and Alison, Barry and Vanessa who as trustees and experienced competition parents were outstanding in their support on the sidelines.
Special mention to Amy, who coached throughout the day in addition to competing. Our Head Coach and Joint Chief Instructor at just 21, her excellent teaching and technical knowledge shone through in her students, both beginners and experienced competitors.

Another busy week in the local community for Sensei Amy and Jinsei Dojo
As the current Young Sports Achiever of the Year for the Wigan borough, Amy was invited to meet the Mayor and some of Wigan's talent fund athletes, possibly the nicest day of the year so far for some photos!
This week also saw the last of our local school visits for the Spring term, with sessions held at St Peter's Bryn and Deanery Wigan.
Amy has taught karate to over 200 local children this term as part of the free lessons and seminars we provide as a CIC organisation.
Good luck to everyone who will soon be applying for the 2025 Sports Awards, looking forward to another great event celebrating local talent

14/03/2025 - Katapillars Classes
Our Jinsei Dojo Katapillars Karate Classes take place on Monday 5:30-6:30.
This class is tailored towards ages 4-10.
Katapillars are little martial artists who are finding their footing in the sport, coming from Kata (one of the 3 main aspects of karate) and caterpillars who are working hard to turn into butterflies!
At Jinsei we believe Karate is for everyone and can offer karate classes for any age and ability.
Once Jinsei Katapillars have ‘earned their wings’ they will flourish in our intermediate and advanced classes.
Join us on Mondays at 5:30pm, St Paul’s Church Hall, Clapgate Lane.

Inspired by other clubs in the Kanzen Karate Family, we are proud to introduce Kobudo Kata training for our advanced students. Kobudo translates to "the old martial way" and is a traditional martial art which uses weapons for self defence.
On Monday Sensei Martin introduced our Advance students to Kobudo for the first time. The club has purchased 10 Competition Standard Bo staffs for the students to use and the students were excited to use them.

13th October 2024
While in Poland Sensei Amy attended the official WUKF Referee course and officiated on a number of mats during the course of the tournament while she was being assessed for her qualification.
Officiating in a major tournament takes a great deal of stamina as the days are very long and demanding with very few breaks.
On Sunday evening the news came through that Sensei Amy had passed her qualification and awarded the level of Kansa.
