Tournament Squad

"There is no greater honour than representing your club, town or country in competition" - Jinsei 2025

Range of Tournaments

Jinsei with our affiliation with Kanzen England can attend WUKF Tournaments from local events in the North West to National events like the British Championship in London and across the country to Dunfermline and even International Events in Ireland, World Championships in Sweden and European Championships in Latvia.

What experience level do I need?

WUKFs moto is "Karate for all" and this includes competition. Within the tournaments the events are split by age and belt colour as well as Karate Style and type of event e.g. Kata, Kumite, Jureken, Weapons. This means you should always be competing against competitors of a similar age and ability as yourself.

What equipment do I need?

All equipment needs to be Wukf Approved

Kata - No specific equipment needed, Competition standard Kata Gi's are available to purchase and are recommended but are not a requirement.

Kumite - Sanbon: Sandon Gloves 1 x Red Set 1 x White Set, white shin guards and foot guards. Ippon: Ippon Gloves 1 x Red Set 1 x White Set

1 x red and 1 x white Belt or competition red/while belt

Mouth Guard

All Children under 14 require a Head Guard and Chest Guard

Jukuren - Sanbon gloves 1 x Red Set 1 x White Set, 1 x Red and 1 x white belt or competition red/white belt

Diary of Events

Am I Ready?

Ultimately only you will know if you are ready. Your Sensei can advise and Jinsei run Tournament Training sessions on Thursdays to help with the etiquette of Tournaments and to build your skills to a Tournament Standard. British Championship and International events usually require selection by the Federation.

How Much Does It Cost?

The financial commitment really depends on how far you wish to go. A local event usually costs around £20 per category entered plus the cost of entry for family members (usually £5). Costs increase at national events due to the cost of travel, fuel and Hotel bills but entry fees are not usually much higher. International events usually cost more to enter and spectate plus there is the additional cost of flights and hotel bills.
